Driving in the Snow – A Poem by Brandon White

Hello Friends,

I have for you today a free verse piece that arrived last night. I hope you all are keeping safe and warm.

Driving in the Snow:

My simple, frozen world
lays dreaming of
the sun

while tires search for asphalt 
beneath the ice,
craving friction,

a little momentum,
a little heat,
something familiar

I’m slipping and sliding
and thinking of how you
left no trace

how you passed
through my life
like a dream

when I should
be focusing on
the road
